Most plumbers and technicians will charge an hourly cost for water heater services, which typically ranges between $50 and $150 per hour. Parts and repairs generally cost between $150 and $500. A thermocouple costs around $25 plus labor. A faulty gas control valve, which generally costs $300-$500, is a higher-end issue that may arise. If your system is still under warranty, your expenses for hot water heater repairs will most likely be far cheaper than if it is outside of its warranty period.

Plumbing leaks may cause costly water damage and require immediate plumbing repairs.
When you find a leak, the first thing you should do is switch off the water source that is supplying it. Turn the shut-off valve in the pipes going to your fixture clockwise until the water stops flowing; if you are unsure where the water is coming from, you can turn off your whole home's water supply by turning your main shut-off valve. Finally, you should get in touch with a local plumber. Contact an emergency plumber if your leak is serious or you are outside of normal working hours.
